In the files you can find the exact morale of each unit and with some tests (what did you expect :p) you can see that morale 2 or lower is 'poor morale', morale 8-11 is 'good morale' and morale 12+ is 'excellent morale'. Unit morale I can give you some more info on though. Trough testing you can find out it's probably a 2-4 attack penalty but it's impossible to tell for sure. So have spears a combat penalty against infantry but nowhere is it stated what that exact penalty is. Those abilities aren't the only time medieval 2 hides some of it's exact stats either. Shiltrom through testing I figured it gives a defensive and morale bonus but an attack penalty. It's good (Only because of the fantastic mods), but definitely not the best.ĭo we honestly just go with "has exellent morale" on the description? What is exellent morale? Grrrrr, this is why I always say Medieval 2 is definitely not the best Total war game ever made.

I just hate that with rally they usually say "raises morale", but how much? Morale has a number right? Or did I miss that?ĭo we honestly just go with "has excellent morale" on the description? What is excellent morale then? How much morale is equal to excellent morale? I might just as well try out the tutorial and see if it's actually explained there. I'm talking about formation abilities in general, not just shield/spear wall. TBH I think all the abilities are explained somewhere but nobody ever bothered to look into the tutorial part of the game lol.Īlso are you talking about spearwall or shiltrom here? Cause those are 2 completely different abilities. So rally does that but was never explained? I am trying to search through the net but everyone only responds "I think it does.". So these abilities are nevery explained? How do we know that these abilities do not give raw stats? I am pretty sure I have seen a unit using schiltrom rally their morale. Otherwise you have no idea on how to use them! You should of course be able to know what the given abilities does. Now which one is the correct ones? It really shows that this game has 0 explanation on what things does and most players just "deal with it".

: So far I have had 3 explanations on what Rally and Warcry does. What does it mean? You always need to order someone to attack or charge so what does it mean? Same regarding descriptions for example "May charge without orders". After playing BOTET (Warhammer: Beginning of the End Times Mod) and Third Age 3.2 + Reforged (Lord of the Rings mods) for quite some time I have come across a lot of text and abilities with 0 context or explanation (some have it though, which is good). This is something that has quite recently erked me. But what do they actually do? Do spearwall give raw stats or just the formation for "coolness"? You've seen many abilities/formations and such.
